Plans underway for "Passport to Oldtown" September 15th
The planning committee is hard at work on the 5th annual "Passport to Oldtown" Restaurants are planning their menus. Entertainment venues are lining up. Merchants are planning to stay open late that evening - as over 1,000 people will visit Oldtown for this event of restaurant samplings.

Grab Your Boots and Hat and Celebrate Rodeo in Oldtown
Oldtown retailers and restaurants will celebrate "Big Week" July 11-18. Thousands of rodeo participants and their families will visit Salinas and enjoy visiting Oldtown.
Window Decorating Contest - Have your windows decorated western by Wed. July 14. A committee will be viewing windows that day and selecting winners. Prizes will be awarded Thursday, July 15 by special Rodeo guests.
Offer 10% off merchandise - to customers dressed Western. Special posters publicizing your 10% discounts available, call OSA office.
Kiddie Kapers Parade - July 14, 7 p.m.
"Rawhide Roast" - Rollick's Specialty Coffee and Internet offering "Rawhide Roast" during Big Week.
A Taste of Monterey presents Vino, Vittles & Verse - Hullaballoo dinner courses will be paired with a Galante Vineyard wine. Guests will be treated to local cowboy poetry readings during each course. For Info, 751-1980x10.
Monterey Coast Brewing - (165 Main St.) features special western menu and hand crafted "Rodeo Brew" for Big Week. Join them on Sat. night, July 17 for live western music "Big Rain". Call 758-2337 for details.

"Let Us Ride" Community Bike Event Starts & Ends in Oldtown - August 21
Over 2,000 people are expected in Oldtown for the first-ever "Let Us Ride" Community Bike event. The 10, 20, 50 and 100 mile bike rides will start and end in Oldtown Sponsoring the event are the Salinas Californian in conjunction with Boys & Girls Club, Trips for Kids and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
